A product and packaging study: research the lip-care shelf, find its weak spot, and propose something better — a metal-capped, glass-barrelled roll-on with a locking cap and a translucent tube. From market study and sketches to a final render.

The task began with research: study the lip-care packaging on the shelf — what leads, what differentiates, where it falls short. The recurring weak point was the format itself: a glass jar that's fiddly to use, easy to contaminate, and gives no read on how much product is left.
The proposal answers all three — a sealed roll-on you never dip a finger into, with a clear barrel that shows the level at a glance.

Every part earns its place.
A metal cap for a substantial, premium feel; a lock that joins cap to base so it never opens in a bag; a rubber roller ball, like a ball-point, for clean even application; a support that keeps the ball seated and the product flowing; a translucent glass tube that shows the level; and a metal base for symmetry and rigidity. Nothing decorative — each detail does a job.
The ideation worked the roll-on silhouette and the cap-lock mechanism on paper first, then resolved into a slim cylinder — black metal top and bottom bracketing a clear glass middle. Premium where it counts, honest about what's inside, and cheap enough to actually make.
